The second charity meet. Bigger and better than last time. Torrential rain the night before was a bit worrying but as usual the sun was back out and it was warm.
A lot of us had been working on the meet for a few months. I turned up at 10 am and opened up the entry gate. By the official start at 11am there were quite a lot of cars, probably half of the
cars for the whole day on meet any other month! Things were getting very busy by 12 noon. There was a queue for the pub and some people had already found the coffee shop opposite the pub. Laura and Amy were dispatched
with raffle tickets and started selling them. Some of the ladies changed into nurses outfits and with the help of some fellas, cleaned cars for charity. There was nail painting, face painting, a wrapped teddy raffle and
soggy sponge throwing. The pub had laid on a Bronco ride and a kiddies Slide.
We did the raffle draw just after 3 p.m. and Tim did the results of the Toyota GT4 owners club show'n'shine competition with trophys as prizes.
I got home at about 6 p.m. and counted the money and added the money raised by the pub. This came to a grand total of £1135! This will all be going to Cancer Research UK. Thanks to everyone who either took part or
contributed to the money raised especially Tim and Sarah, Laura, Amy and Jon, Sarah and Rog, Dawn, Andy Stott, Karren and Alex, Pob, Sue and John, Flora and Andy, Helen, Gav, Mick, Jackie the staff of the Bubble Inn.
Next meeting is on September 11th.
